ShowIKRSS - Purple Crayon instructions: ShowIKRSS_0.47

Okay... I will try to give 'Purple Crayon' instructions for using
ShowIKRSS.

Once you've uploaded the plugin and have it in your plugin panel...

Look at the text explaining it... You will see a little snippet of code:

[rsspics:IMGSIZE,SASID,TRKCODE,URL]

Remember that or copy it somewhere. You will need it!

Next... Make the plugin active. Got that?

Now that the plugin is active, you can go to the 'Options' menu. You should see 'ShowIKRSS' If you click on that a menu will open where you can set default settings. You don't have to do this right now... But it might not be a bad idea. Because... If you set the default settings, you can skip some of the steps in these instructions. (I'll tell you when you can skip some steps.)

On to actually using the plugin...

I'm going to use my IK Dogs gallery as an example:

http://niftywares.imagekind.com/dogs

Are ya still following along?

All right... You're looking at the gallery, see down in the lower
left corner (just below the images)... There's an Orange
symbol and words that say 'RSS for this gallery'

Did you find it? It's a link you will need. Copy it and save it
somewhere. Maybe right by the code snippet, since you'll be using
them together.

Oh, Boy!... You have the hard part all done! Yipeee!

Are you ready to put a gallery feed into a post or on a page?

Start out just like you are going to write a regular post or page,
type a little intro if you'd like.

Now, Here's the magic part...

Take the code snippet that says:

[rsspics:IMGSIZE,SASID,TRKCODE,URL]

Put that on a line all by itself. Make sure you include the brackets.

[rsspics:IMGSIZE,SASID,TRKCODE,URL]

(Okay... Here's where you can skip some steps if you've set defaults in the options menu and want to use the defaults. Skip right down to the bottom of these instructions.)

See the part that says 'IMGSIZE'? Found it? Okay... now pick an image size... 100, 150, 200, 350, 450, or 650. Put the number in, in place of IMGSIZE Lets try 350:

[rsspics:350,SASID,TRKCODE,URL]

See the part that says 'SASID'? Found it? Okay... now put your ShareASale ID in there. Not a SAS affiliate... Why not? Its easy. If I use my ID... Heres what we have so far:

[rsspics:350,202591,TRKCODE,URL]

See the part that says 'TRKCODE'? Found it? Okay... now think up a tracking code and put it in there. How about... dogsgallery? (Letters and numbers only, no spaces.)

[rsspics:350,202591,dogsgallery,URL]

See the part that says 'URL'? Found it? Okay... now take the 'RSS
for this gallery' link you saved:

http://www.imagekind.com/Rssfeed.aspx?GID=be3b8fae-a59d-4bae-b60d-449fd060c972&P=1

Watch out... It's a long one. Anyway... What you do is replace 'URL' with that link, you will end up with:

[rsspics:350,202591,dogsgallery,http://www.imagekind.com/Rssfeed.aspx?GID=be3b8fae-a59d-4bae-b60d-449fd060c972&P=1]

You've now learned how to put the code into a post with settings unique to that post.

If you want to use the default values from the options menu... You can just replace the 'URL' part of the code.

[rsspics:IMGSIZE,SASID,TRKCODE,http://www.imagekind.com/Rssfeed.aspx?GID=be3b8fae-a59d-4bae-b60d-449fd060c972&P=1]

You're almost done... Write more if you want something
after your galleries. Publish it. And you're done.

Now... Was that so hard?
