Much to my surprise… I found out I was a featured artist at Imagekind today. A very nice surprise indeed! I wonder how many folks will check out my galleries?
I’ve really enjoyed taking photos and trying to get good ones to post. Not all of them turn out great… Once in a while there’s a fairly decent one worth putting up at Imagekind…
Gee… I feel almost famous, getting my profile listed at Imagekind!

Looked out this morning and there were some nice red colors just before sunrise. Grabbed the camera and a tripod, popped out the door and set up. It was 5 degrees below zero, didn’t grab a jacket, hat, or mittens, as it was just outside the door and only gonna be for a moment at a time…
Took a few pics. Decided a jacket and hat would feel good. Hands were still cool, but can’t work the camera with mittens on. Did learn, while moving, that an aluminum tripod and bare hands in below zero temps aren’t a good combination.
Here are a couple of the pics:

Cassie, over at Cassie’s Critters has been looking for animal designs on the Flip Minos video camcorders that Cafepress is now offering. She inspired me to gather a few photos and see if I could come up with some critter designs for the Flip cameras. I managed to get some photos formatted and put on the cameras:

Here’s a photo of bright red and yellow flower blossoms I took at last Wednesday’s farmers market. I love how this photo turned out with other blossoms behind the central bloom and the green leaves under the blossom.
I’ve added this to my Flowers gallery at Imagekind, so it is available for sale there, framed or unframed.

Another photo of Monday’s sunset. This one captured more of the sky and some of the snow in the field was cropped. I’m often amazed at the colors during sunset.

There were pretty colors in the sky at sunset on Monday, so… I took the camera out into the south field and snapped some pictures. Here’s one:

I stepped out the door Friday morning and snapped a few pictures just before sunrise of the moon and a star in the sky.

Shortly after that, a neighbor stopped and picked me up for a trip out towards the Red river valley. He had bought a tractor and was going to pick it up, asked if I’d like to ride along. It was a nice change of pace and a good trip, I hadn’t been that way in quite a while.
Seems kinda strange bypassing Bemidji on the new highway and not going by the statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue ox.
We came back a different route and passed by Itasca state park, where the headwaters of the Mississippi river is. Crossed a bridge near there where the river isn’t much more than a creek in size, quite a bit smaller than where it flows by my house.
Got home just before sunset.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year filled with joy and good cheer!
Here’s a photo showing the dawn of the new year. It was 3 degrees below zero and I didn’t spend too much time taking the photo of the sunrise across the Mississippi river.

May you all enjoy the coming year as much as Raven (my dog) and I enjoyed the dawn of the new year!

Sunset Between Pines by Kent Lorentzen
Looked out yesterday around sunset, the cats were waiting to be fed, and saw the pretty sky. So… After feeding the cats I stepped out the door with the camera and took a couple of photos. I think this one, with the orange ray shooting into the clouds and a spot of orange reflecting off the snow didn’t turn out too bad.

Something Interesting by Kent Lorentzen
Raven’s found something interesting in the snow. What could it be? I don’t know! She loves to go and check things out.
We went for a walk the other day, in the south field at sunset, with me thinking I’d take a picture or two of the setting sun. Took several photos of Raven with her in different poses. This is one of them.
